Short for the Latin word meaning carta visa, a visa is an important document issued by host countries giving formal approval for a visiting individual. These visas are usually for a specifically amount of time with the purpose of the stay officially written on the document. Coupled with a passport, this document is an important part of any traveling abroad protecting your rights as well as the host country.

Not only are entrance visas required. In some countries, an exit visa is required as well. Many visas are granted once you have arrived to your destination via the local consulate or embassy. Knowing where to get your visa once it is approved is an important aspect of this process you must be aware of. In addition, be sure you know the verification and identification you will need.
