This world has been happened to be so beautiful and amazing only because it has several beautiful places and things in it. No one can deny that the world since its birth has been kept explored by man and that journey is still going on. Among all the things that have been able marvel man a few are being listed as the wonders of the world. From time to time this list has been modified and new monuments are being incorporated in it. There are instances of the ancient world list, medieval world list and latest world list. But whatever the new inclusions are, the importance of the old wonders has not yet been faded.
According to the new list which has been implemented on 07.07.2007 the Seven Wonders of the World are:
* Chichen Itza, Mexico
* Christ Redeemer, Brasil
* Colosseum, Italy
* Taj Mahal, India
* Great Wall of Chine
* Petra, Jordan and
* Machu Picchu of Peru
Chichén Itzá: This is the most famous Mayan temple city. Once it was the political and economic center of the Mayan civilization.
Christ Redeemer: This is a 38 meters tall statue standing on the Corcovado Mountain overlooking Rio de Janeiro.
Colosseum: It is 2,000 years old and was the sports stadium for the Roman Empire where cruel fights and games were being played.
Taj Mahal: A fully white marbled palace built in the memory of Nur Jahan, the loving late wife of the fifth Muslim Mughal emperor of India, Shah Jahan.
The Great Wall of China: It is the largest man-made monument ever in this earth and was built to attack and send the Mongol tribes out of China.
Petra: A theater found in the edge of the Arabian Desert and was once the capital of the Nabataean empire of King Aretas IV.
Machu Picchu: A city built in the clouds on the mountain known as Machu Picchu and was abandoned by the Incas.
